Plans are afoot to demolish the existing 40m telecommunications tower at Westcraigs, High Blantyre.
A familiar landmark near the housing estate, located behind the shop, the tower built 2 decades ago belongs to EE. A planning application (ref P/24/1547) has been made to South Lanarkshire Council to completely demolish the structure and re-erect a new similar sized one further into the Technology Park amidst the office units at Watt Place, in a less prominent position from main roads.
Planning decision still has to be made.
