Westcraigs is the latest area in Blantyre to fundraise for a brand new defibrillator.
Every year, over 3,000 people in Scotland experience an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). Quick access CPR backed up by a defibrillator is crucial to the survival rate. Blantyre has been incredibly proactive in recent years with several defibrillators either already positioned around the town or poised to be.
Local business , “Worth Melting For”, is supporting the Westcraigs Defibrillator Appeal. The residents of Westcraigs hope to soon have their own Automated External Defibrillator (AED) installed in the estate. With over 900 homes in the estate, the lifesaving potential of having quick access to an AED is huge.
Owner, Lisa told us, “We’re donating all profits from the sale of the products listed in the link below to the appeal. Please note that the ‘Jar of Hearts’ products are only for local delivery in Westcraigs.”
She continued, “We hope you love our products, but more importantly you’ll be helping the community of Westcraigs save lives.”
