Paul Mulholland Wins at Crufts 2025 with Rhodesian Ridgeback

What a wonderful time local man Paul Mulholland had at the National Dog Show, Crufts, this week!

Paul, from Glasgow Road Blantyre told Blantyre Telegraph, “I still can’t believe what happened! I would like to thank the judge, David Bates, for thinking highly of Heart Throb Walamadengie Rhodesian Ridgebacks AKA ‘Ripp’ to award him……. a first in his class!”

“Thank you to all our Ridgeback family for their continued support and guidance. It is always appreciated! Congratulations to all those who entered, it was a fantastic day to walk on the green carpet.”

Paul also wanted to say thanks to local people in Blantyre for all their support.

Well done Paul and to ‘Ripp’!

More about the Rhodesian Ridgeback – a large dog breed originally bred in Southern Africa. The original breed standard was drafted by F.R. Barnes, in Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), in 1922, and approved by the South African Kennel Union in 1927. Its forebears can be traced to the ridged hunting and guardian dogs of the Khoikhoi. These were interbred with European dogs by the early colonists of the Cape Colony for assisting in the hunting of lions. Rhodesian Ridgebacks are known for their protective, yet loyal temperaments.
