Scotland has banned Greyhound racing.
The Scottish government has given its backing to the ban the motion receiving cross party support. There are only 9 known countries in the world which still have greyhound racing, including all four UK nations. However, in April the Welsh Government announced that it would ban the sport as soon as practically possible, while New Zealand is making similar moves.
In recent years greyhound tracks have closed, with just one left partially open in Fife.
