Greyhound Racing banned in Scotland

Scottish MSPs have voted overwhelmingly to ban greyhound racing, passing the Greyhound Racing (Offences) (Scotland) Bill with 70 votes in favor. This legislation makes it illegal to operate or participate in greyhound racing, closing Scotland’s last racing track in Fife. Green MSP Mark Ruskell hailed the decision as a victory against animal cruelty.

Wales plans to implement a ban soon, and New Zealand is following suit. Currently, only one greyhound track remains partially operational in Fife, as others have shut down.
