It was a damp morning for tree planting on Wednesday this week, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of the Friends of the Calder!
Around a hundred trees were planted at the White Gates Orchard, at the top of the Calder to create a new hedge, a woodland edge, and fill in some gaps. South Lanarkshire Country Rangers added, “Big thanks to local farmer Alan Rochead for the trees and for transporting them to us, and to the Friends for giving up their time to help out this morning.”
Well done! It’s great to see so many new trees being added to many planted throughout the Blantyre area in recent months.
