It’s been amazing to see SO many trees being planted in Blantyre in the last 3 years. Literally THOUSANDS of trees have been planted as conservation efforts seek to improve our green spaces.
Almost 2,000 trees have been planted in Blantyre, Scotland, as part of a Clyde Climate Forest initiative to improve urban air quality and biodiversity. Recent planting, including work with High Blantyre Primary School and Trees for Cities, focuses on sites like Springwell Park, Stonefield Park and Ballantrae Road to combat climate change impacts.
Following this, you may have noticed in recent months, many more hundreds of trees dotted around Blantyre. From Priory Bridge to Hunthill Lane, near top of Victoria Street and at the Main Street (pictured), these young trees should make Blantyre all the more leafier and green in future generations. Not forgetting Burnbrae Road, which has had its open spaces transformed by recent planting.
Blantyre has also been blessed wih several private projects recently too, with planting taking place near Greenhall and at the White Gates Orchard at the Calder.
Planting more trees in Blantyre isnt anywhere near done yet. See our subscribers group for more.
