Netflix price hikes in the UK

Netflix customers are facing higher monthly bills after the streaming giant announced a new round of price increases.

The biggest percentage rise affects its cheapest, basic Standard plan with adverts, which has jumped from £5.99 to £7.99 a month – an increase of more than 33%.

The advert-free Standard plan has also gone up, rising from £12.99 to £13.99 a month.

Meanwhile, Netflix’s Premium plan, which offers additional features including streaming on more devices, has increased from £18.99 to £20.99 a month.

Customers who pay to add an extra member to their account will also see the cost rise from £4.99 to £5.99 a month.

The latest increases mean subscribers on the Premium package will now pay almost £252 a year if they remain subscribed for 12 months.
