Three Blantyre organisations have benefited from recent donations from the wonderful Postcode Lottery!
The David Livingstone Centre, which is dedicated to telling the story of the life and work of the explorer and missionary, received £50,000 thanks to Postcode Lottery players.
Speaking to Glasgow media, Sandra Lowson, Director of Operations and Engagement at the centre, said: “On behalf of everyone at the David Livingstone Centre, we would like to thank every Postcode Lottery player and the nearby residents whose success has helped make this funding possible.”
“Their support will have a lasting and positive impact on our community.”
Other charities to benefit from the draw include Liber8, which was awarded £75,000 for its counselling services for adults and young people in Lanarkshire affected by mental health problems, alcohol misuse and substance use.
Blantyre Soccer Academy, who are currently constructing the fantastic new pitches at Larkfield also received £30,000 for projects such as Bikeability, holiday camps, and community sports programmes.
