Lanarkshire’s most colourful and spectacular annual event, the Strathaven Balloon Festival is here until Sunday 30th August 2026!
Held in Strathaven Park, the hugely popular festival is Scotland’s only hot air balloon festival and promises another fantastic weekend of balloons, entertainment and family fun.
Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th August
Early risers can caught the spectacular balloon launches at around 6am today, with further launches planned just after 6pm tonight.
The Sky Masters from Skydive Strathallan are also scheduled to take to the skies at 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.
One of the highlights comes on tonight, Saturday evening just after 9pm, when the balloons light up the park for the spectacular Evening Glow.
From 12 noon on Saturday and Sunday, the park will also host family entertainment including live music, a funfair, stalls, classic vehicles and tethered hot air balloons, subject to weather conditions.
Best of all, admission is FREE!
With colourful balloons filling the Lanarkshire skies, this is always a fantastic spectacle and a brilliant family day out.
