South Lanarkshire’s skies are set to come alive once again as the Strathaven Balloon Festival returns to John Hastie Park this weekend until Sunday 24 August, welcoming around 30,000 visitors.
The much-loved free event in Strathaven celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, after last year’s cancellation due to poor weather left locals disappointed. Balloonists from across the UK and Ireland will gather for the spectacular weekend.
Visitors can look forward to evening balloon flights (weather permitting), alongside live music, a funfair, food stalls, Stormcloud Alpacas, classic cars and plenty more family entertainment.
