When reader John Hickey and his daughter were out for their lockdown exercise at Easter, they didn’t appreciate being startled by a spooky sighting.
The incident happened during the school holidays when John and his daughter were out near Bothwell Castle. The ruined building was locked, fully closed off to the public, so they decided to have a look around the outside. It was a sunny day and John took many photos. It was a good day out and lots of families were picnicking and walking by the Clyde in their social bubbles, enjoying the fine weather.
When back home we flicked through the photos and in the dark, empty window of the high tower, the arched opening didn’t appear empty! To their surprise, there was a shape that is not in any of their other photos. John zoomed in and was not sure what he had captured on camera. He told us, “All we can say, is that it looks like a person, perhaps in a white dress. Looking out into the grounds!”
It certainly does look strange when you consider the building is closed. Who is the shadowy figure at the window? Has John captured something strange?
