A serious alert has seen parts of Blantyre’s Logan Street and Church Street closed off this evening.
A serious incident has seen between 20 to 25 police vehicles attending the scene , with officers closing off access to parts of Logan Street, St Andrews Court and Church Street. Police have asked nearby residents to stay indoors for now whilst they get a handle on the situation with searches of nearby gardens underway. Glasgow Road was still passable by vehicle until just before 9pm but now with reports of drivers being turned back at the Asda roundabout.
The police helicopter is overhead as of 8.30pm.

There are some assurances tonight, as well as the number of officers there.
Terminal One have issued a statement just before 9pm tonight confirming “Please note that Terminal One is not part of the ongoing incident tonight. All our young people and staff are fine.”
