Police were called to High Blantyre Cross late last night amidst reports of a serious assault.
During the early hours of Sunday 03 March 2019, police officers taped off an area next to the busy junction at Hunthill Road and Main Street. By this morning, police tape had been removed.
One local lady shared a message at 2.30am stating, “Police cars are at High Blantyre’s top cross and setting up a perimeter.”
Another resident who lives nearby messaged us at 4.30am saying , ” The whole area has been cordoned off. I fear something serious has happened.”
We will not be speculating as to the nature of this incident, despite many rumours flying around online today. We hope anybody involved is ok.
