We were delighted to support the Livingstone Birthplace on Station Road, Blantyre yesterday by handing over 2 brand new gardening trolleys to replace those stolen last week.
The donation of these 2 trolleys worth £184 was possible due to our fantastic Supporters Group, via their monthly small subscription, and although not as expensive as the ones stolen, should suffice to let the volunteers in the garden get on with their ground maintenance work.
It’s our understanding police have recovered the 2 stolen trolleys some distance away, 1 of which was unfortunately damaged. It’s a shame that replacement had to happen in the first place.
An appreciative spokesperson for Livingstone Birthplace, upon taking delivery yesterday told us, “Thank you so much. Our gardening volunteers will be pleased. These look brilliant.”
This latest award, one of many this week takes our donations for April and May for community good causes in Blantyre to over £500. Thank you to everybody currently supporting Telegraph in our Supporters Group.
