More bad news for visitors to Blantyre Leisure Centre as the pool is once again closed.
Signs are up stating the pool is closed from Sunday 26th January and was expected to be closed today too.
There’s a growing anger from residents of Blantyre and beyond as they travel to the sports centre only to find facilities closed during normal working hours. Would it hurt for the council to post updates on their website or social media?
One irritated customer told Blantyre telegraph today, “It is a leisure centre to which members pay a fee to be able to attend during their leisure time. This is repeatedly being denied of them.”
Another told us, “Can we please seek a statement from the SLLC CEO on their position about these repeated closures. At the same time , can SLLC confirm their strategic plan for Blantyre Leisure Centre, which is in dire need of investment and refurbishment.”
C’mon SLLC……, we are almost 4 weeks into 2025 and the swimming pool has had 3 days over 3 weeks reduced hours due to staff shortages, is this going to be a problem throughout the year!?
