Today, 23rd March 2021 represents exactly one year since Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s announcement that the whole of the UK was going into lockdown.
If you recall, on the back of surging numbers of Covid-19 cases, a full lockdown was decided as the best way to try and stop the spread of the virus. To mark the anniversary, Blantyre Telegraph is taking a look back at how Blantyre was forced to adapt and cope, and the ways in which we all looked out for each other.
We would never have imagined one year one we’d be in another lockdown. As we look back with this special little film, we’re reminded that things WILL improve and we’re closer now to getting through this.
This is for everybody who sadly lost their lives in this ongoing pandemic.
