New Addition for Duke of Wellington

A new twist has appeared on the iconic Duke of Wellington statue outside Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art – the famous traffic cone has been swapped for a quirky pigeon sculpture.

The playful artwork shows a pigeon reading a newspaper while sporting its own tiny cone, nodding to Glasgow’s long-standing tradition of adorning the statue with a real traffic cone. The statue has been creating some attention today…more than usual!

Street artist Rebel Bear has hinted on social media that they are behind the latest creative addition to the much-loved monument, which dates back to 1844.
