Premier has retracted their initial announcement about opening a coffee and dessert shop in the Westend. Instead, they will now operate solely a convenience store and dessert shop to avoid competing with local businesses. The opening is now expected later this month.
Renovations at the Westend Building are progressing, converting the former Westend Bar into a Premier Store and a high-end dessert and coffee shop. Current work includes installing black cladding and preparing for new windows. Extensive interior renovations are underway to improve the building’s structural integrity. A larger car park has also been added.
The new Westend shop at Glasgow Road and Bardykes Road in Blantyre will be a Premier store instead of a NISA. The change comes from new owners who have submitted a revised planning application to South Lanarkshire Council, explaining recent renovation delays. More details will be shared when received.
