Today Blantyre Celtic lifted the Paul Canning Memorial Trophy in an excellent tournament hosted by Eddlewood.
Blantyre Celtic’s website commented,” The lads done the gaffer proud by winning the first match 5-0 against Phoenix Utd with goals coming from a Craig Dickson hat trick which saw him collect the top goal scorer award, Danny Sneddon and Ross Fletcher. In the final we played the hosts and defending champions Eddlewood in a game that we won 4-0. Goals in the final came from Kevin Cunning, Connor Gaffney, Craig Cornes and Ryan Barrett.
Credit to every player who played their part today and in difficult underfoot conditions played some excellent attacking football.
Worth noting also is that the matches were only 30mins each way so to score 9 goals is an excellent achievement.
Well done also to Ryan Barrett who took the player of the tournament trophy and looks better as each game passes.
