Local family the ‘McGuckins’ of Morag Avenue have had a tough time lately. In particular, Tilly, (Lainey McGuckin’s mother), had recently found out she has bone cancer and is now having to attend treatments at the Beatson in Glasgow.
Seeing how devastated her family was and clearly how brave Tilly is being, Blantyre Telegraph decided to gift £50.00 today to Tilly, perhaps for flowers, taxis to the clinic or simply for Lainey and her family to buy a small gift for her mum. Lainey has kindly given us permission to post this small article adding, “Mam is well considering and is in the Beatson at the moment. I showed her your message. Both of us are humbled at the offer.”
It’s hoped our small donation, made possible by Blantyre people buying our newspaper, will go some way to making life a little brighter for Tilly at the moment. We wish her all the best for her treatments and healthier times for the future.
