Blantyre set aside all their footballing difference to host its own charity “old firm” match on Sunday 27th September 2015. The game kicked off at 2pm at Castle Park, home of the Blantyre Vics to a crowd of spectators.
Local players took part in the friendly game which was in memory of Eddie Maxwell. The game was a close call, 4-4 at full time. Into penalties, the “Rangers” players won.
