Our Gift to Peter Innes

peterinnesDiane Scott recently emailed us to say, “My dad was born in Auchentibber, Blantyre in 1931 and grew up in low Blantyre. He’s now in a nursing home with dementia and I’m trying to get some old pictures to put up in his room as the places he can remember. Do you know where I can buy prints or paintings? His name is Peter Innes and lived in Victoria St before moving to East Kilbride when he married. Any information or help would be appreciated.”

We’re very much in a position to help with this. So, last week we packaged up 3 x Blantyre Project history books, some back editions of Blantyre Telegraph newspapers and arranged for 25 x high resolution prints of Blantyre in areas that hopefully Peter will recognise. The package was worth £60 and was posted out to Diane (for her father) last Friday. This was made possible by all the kind people who bought a Blantyre Telegraph newspaper.

It’s hoped these Blantyre books and photos will allow Peter to recall some old, nice memories from his childhood.
