There are just TWO business banking days left in Blantyre for the Royal Bank of Scotland on Glasgow Road, with shutters closing for good this coming Tuesday 20th June 2017.
This post serves as a reminder for anybody requiring to do last minute business at the teller before they close.
The Blantyre branch is one of 30 Royal Bank branches to close throughout Scotland and is an unwelcome blow for many people so soon after Clydesdale Bank left the town. This closure is a result of customers moving towards Internet Banking Services.
The branch outdoor ATM will also close, leaving Asda, Stonefield Road and Main Street the remaining outdoor ATMs in Blantyre.
The move sees yet another Clydeview Shopping Centre property closed down. With others in this block already asked to vacate, the overall proposal for this side of the shopping centre is for demolition at a later date.
Have your say. Are you sorry to see the bank go? Will this affect you? Do you prefer tellers than Internet Banking? What about people who don’t use or don’t want to use Internet services? Where will local businesses cash up?
