Drama at Callaghan Wynd

dramaAn eventful evening unfolded at Blantyre’s Callaghan Wynd, last night Wednesday 30th May 2018.

A car thief tried to break in to two cars in Callaghan Wynd, just off Bardykes Road around 10:30pm just as it had become dark.

A vigilant home owner was alerted by his newly installed door bell CCTV, which had only been recently fitted. The thief’s movement activated the bell, lights and camera built within, which was able to clearly video capture the break-in and alerted the houseowner.

The owner and his immediate neighbour being alerted this way, were out quick enough to give chase after the culprit. With police already called, the thief tried to escape along Glasgow Road towards the Halfway direction.

Police were called into the chase and and we’re pleased to confirm they made an arrest!

There has now been 3 known attempted break-in attempts in Callaghan Wynd alone this year, and of course other areas also being targeted, perhaps for their ease of escape.
