Introduction of Red Tags
Following the recent introduction of yellow tags asking people to recognise something is in the bin that shouldn’t be there and to put them out the following week, South Lanarkshire Council are starting a similar escalated RED tag system.
Think of a yellow tag like football cards, a warning. Well, Red tags are more serious and will signify the bin contains significant recycling contamination and importantly, unlike yellow tags won’t be collected until the NEXT bin collection cycle, which for some types of waste may be weeks away.
If you’re still struggling with recycling, now’s the time to get up to speed. Or face your bins sitting uncollected for weeks!
Have your say. Is this a good idea? Has recycling ideals gone too far? Is the system complicated or understandable?
