Rest in Peace
We’re saddened to hear about the passing of local man, George Baird.
He served with the Kings own Scottish Borderers for 30 years fighting all over the world for Queen and Country. For a long time, he was their number 1 marksman. George took ill on Monday 15th October when medical staff reckoned he would not see the night, but he bravely fought on at Hairmyres Hospital until passing away recently on Friday 26th, age 64.
George is being laid to rest on Wednesday 7th November at 11am at Blantyre Old Parish Church in High Blantyre then on to the crematorium for 12pm.
Our sympathies go to all the family at this sad time. Rest in Peace George.
