A Bothwell resident was shocked this morning Friday 7 December 2018 round 6.09am to discover a significant amount of banknotes in a lane near her home.
The haul , found in Bothwell turned out to be counterfeit notes and had been abandoned in Jacks Lane, near a local primary school. The resident immediately contacted police.
Inspector Scott McCarren issued a statement saying: “A large quantity of counterfeit notes were discovered by a member of the public and we will continue to carry out our investigations into this incident this morning. Enquiries are ongoing.”
