Crime incidents thankfully have been very quiet in Blantyre during December (and long may that continue), but we wanted to highlight a theft which has left a local lady very upset.
On the evening of Tuesday 18th December 2018, an unknown thief or thieves entered garden on Station Road and stole a stone statue of Santa. Now, whilst the value may not be much, the statue had been in the ownership of a lady resident for 11 years and has great sentimental value.
It’s sat out every Christmas. The lady is really upset and is now frightened at the fact that someone came into her garden. She wanted to let this page know to be alert for any other thefts and if possibly anybody knows more about where the statue could be now.
