CVHA Housing Improvements

Work is now underway on behalf of Client, Clyde Valley Housing Association at the Scottish Special Housing, Blantyre. Contractors have commenced insulating walls and roofs and in some cases undertaking major improvements to roofs. Scaffolding has been erected around several homes.

The work comprises of installing wall and roof insulation to Clyde Valley social housing to maximise energy efficiency and dramatically reduce fuel bills for tenants. In some instances, entire new roofs are being put on. Nearby at the flats, HEEPS funding was made available for external insulated rendering.

Contractors, A.C. Whyte & Co. Ltd are a quality focused main contractor in the major refurbishment of low and high rise occupied social housing for Local Authorities and Housing Associations across Scotland and the UK. The site manager declined to comment on how long the programme of work would take or discuss the nature of the work. We were directed to client Clyde Valley Housing Association (CVHA)

CVHA kindly confirmed that the survey work was done during early 2018. Work started last week and is likely to last throughout the Springtime.

This forms just a small part of recent improvement works to existing housing in Blantyre and compliments a resurgence of new homes being built in the town in recent months.
