New owners are being sought for a well known pub in Blantyre.
The Doon Inn on Broompark Road has been owned by the family of the current operators since 1965 and is up for sale to allow them to retire. It is free of tie and last year made a net profit of £85,000 on sales of £334,980. It is on the market for offers over £375,000 for the freehold.
Jonathan Clough of selling agent Smith & Clough described the pub, which comprises a ground floor and basement cellar, as “a real institution within Blantyre”.
“The sale represents a tremendous opportunity for a new owner to take on an extremely well performing and profitable business which still offers further growth potential, including introducing a food offering, as the business is currently 100% wet-led,” said Clough. He added that the firm had recently concluded a number of sales in Lanarkshire and is “therefore expecting strong interest in this sale”.
