The Blantyre Girl Guides had a bit of a celebration tonight, Monday 18 February 2019.
Earlier tonight at a Division meeting, some of the hard working volunteers received long service awards.
Janette Stewart, Division Commissioner for Blantyre District Girlguiding UK, told us, “Not all Guiders were available to attend due to other commitments but we had service awards totalling 330 years service within the Blantyre District which I feel is an outstanding achievement for our wee town!”

Elsa Murray, Winnifred McClure, Maureen Cochran, Phylis Crossan, Louise Gibson, Melissa Oswald and Joy Callaghan.
Well done to all these leaders who kindly give up their time every week. It’s wonderful to see Rainbows, Brownies and Guides growing from strength to strength in our area.
