Steering Group Meeting

Blantyre Steering Group meet again on Thursday 18 April 2019 at Terminal One at 7pm.

The steering group which formed in September 2018 have been through an intensive few weeks during March and April meeting many times to formulate a 5 year action plan for improving all aspects of life in Blantyre. Using data, suggestions and surveys provided from over 1,500 people of all ages in Blantyre, the community led organisation will shortly be publishing Blantyre’s shared vision and action plan for 2019-2024.

The group hopes to make a collective difference in all aspects of Community life in Blantyre with as many organisations, businesses and individuals working together as possible to that aim. Addressing the issues in the actoin plan that most matter to people living in the town, the group has the added benefit of opening up, (where relevant) funding possibilities for all involved.

There are currently 39 people enrolled in the steering group, some of which subscribed only out of interest, but more volunteers are always welcome to join and come along and be actually involved. The varied group of motivated people include, individuals, residents, business owners, youth workers, media, local stakeholders, representatives from many established community groups, councillors and volunteer workers. All welcome.

The action plan will shortly be going to graphics/design and will get published soon.
