A Blantyre grandmother was dismayed today, Friday 24 May 2019 when she arrived at Stonefield Public Park to see the public play equipment smashed.
The lady had taken her little grandson to the park at Low Blantyre, directly across from ASDA. The wee boy couldn’t even enjoy the slide as vandals had smashed in the platform before the drop.
She asked us, “Why would anyone do that? That area of the park is for babies and toddlers to play. How disgusting to break and vandalise it.”
We have reported this to South Lanarkshire Council and given the lack already of playing amenities in Blantyre, we hope for a quick response.
