The relative peacefulness of nearby Bothwell was shattered last week by shocking criminal activity.
Not just a week after being awarded “Restaurant of the Week” by a National Newspaper, the San Vincenzo in Bothwell, Lanarkshire was targeted by vandals.
A white pick up was deliberately reversed through the sliding main doors leaving damage costing thousands of pounds. It comes just a few weeks after the same restaurant was targeted by spraypaint.
The targeted, futile attempts perhaps to try to close this successful family business appear fuelled by jealousy and in the words of the owners, have so far monumentally failed as the business was up and running in a matter of hours each time. Indeed, thanks to contractors, the restaurant opened the next morning at 10.30am.
Police have been alerted and residents nearby now more vigilant.
