South Lanarkshire Council want to hear your views on the proposed removal of a number of BT payphones across South Lanarkshire.
With BT confirming the use of public phone boxes has reduced by over 90% in the last decade alone, the question is, should they be scrapped?
For Blantyre, the use of phoneboxes is also on the slide. Stats as follows:
Main Street, High Blantyre….just 2 calls made in the last 12 months.
Farm Road….198 calls made in the last 12 months
Glasgow Road (near sports centre)….301 calls made in the last 12 months.
