Blantyre’s May Gardiner had battled cancer 6 times in recent years and sadly passed away on 24th April this year. She worked for many years in Calderside Academy and was a member of the support staff mainly in the ASN department.
Calderside Academy have named new award after this remarkable lady. The May Gardiner award for Kindness was given this year to a very worthy young man and will be awarded to a pupil every year.
Her daugher, Lee Budinauckas added, “We are very proud of her. I’m running the Great Scottish Run half marathon on Sunday 29th September 2019 and raising funds for Macmillan Nurses who supported our family throughout mum’s illness. “
