Supporting Blake Alexander

Reader Sophie Barr messaged us,

“On the 28th June our best friends baby boy Blake Alexander, unexpectedly took a seizure in his parents arms. Since then Blake has been hospitalised and tests after tests have been carried out. Unfortunately at 17 months, Blake was diagnosed with an incurable brain condition. This means that his wee life will be significantly shortened and it could be as soon as a few months or a few years.”

Ashley and Kieran are Blake’s parents. Originally from Cambuslang, the couple set up home in Blantyre.

Sophie continued, “Everyone close to the family are devastated. I know we can’t make this horrendous situation any better, however we want to help where possible.

A fundraising event has been organised on the Saturday 28th September 2019 at the Glencairn Football Social Club in Rutherglen. Organisers are looking for any contributions or donations of any size, perhaps raffle prizes to allow Blake’s parents to be able to give him as many nice memories as possible with him during his sadly shortened life.

Tickets for the fundraiser can also be bought from one of the organisers, Rebecca on 07976 903 550, costing just £5.

The family have given permission for this post. We offer our support here and will gladly donate some raffle prizes nearer the time.
