Our fundraising totals for August 2019 are now in and have been allocated to local good causes.
During August, Blantyre Telegraph has raised a whopping £801.20 towards various local good causes! Our fundraising now reaches a new updated amazing total of £26,379 for 153 local good causes to date since 2015!
Fundraising was from various sources:
£126.00 from the sales of Edition 5 (August) Magazine.
£66.00 from Magazine Advertising.
£9.00 from public subscriptions on our website.
£590.00 from public donations.
£10.20 from the sale of Blantyre Project books.
£0.00 from Website Advertising.



Every penny raised goes entirely to local good causes, as always. We’re pleased to announce, this has been spent as follows:
£340.00 set aside for Herald Clock repairs and complete renovation, expected Winter 2020/Spring 2021
£240.00 to save, safely manoeuvre and transport the 0.3t Herald Clock at David Livingstone Centre, which was otherwise going to be demolished. (4 people plus forklift and flatbed lorry hire.)
£100.00 Towards replacing broken play equipment at High Blantyre Primary Nursery School.
£30.00 for Yvonne Robertson for Meningitis Research Foundation
£30.00 for Ewan Priest to ‘Therapaet’ for his sponsored hike
£45.00 to buy 2 x new A4 three tier display stands, labels and 2 further charity donation tins for new magazine outlets.
£16.00 to Liam McGregor for raffle prize for baby Blake Alexander fundraiser


How to get Involved supporting the Community
There are several fantastic ways you can support Blantyre Telegraph.
- You can now support us offline by buying our monthly magazine. At only £1, the entire sales of that publication will go entirely to local good causes and can be bought at Jinxy’s High Blantyre, Carrigans at Broompark Road, at Family Shopper on Main Street, Redburn Farm at Hamilton Technology Park and at Strachan Craft Butchers on Glasgow Road. More outlets will be added next month!
