We’ve received many messages last night and this morning relating to a ongoing police incident in Blantyre. Leaving aside all speculation, here’s what is known:
A serious incident took place last night during the early hours of Sunday 27 October 2019 at Camelon Crescent, Blantyre, South Lanarkshire. Police were called between 2 and 3am.
Four police cars arrived at 2.55am. The area was quickly cordoned off last night and even residents who live in the block did not know what was taking place. An entire block of flats was taped off and by morning, forensic officers were on the scene, moving through the building and grounds outside.
Nearby residents in adjacent streets are being asked for CCTV footage from between midnight and 3am, following door to door enquiries.
The Camelon Crescent area still has a police attendance and taped off this afternoon.
One resident told us this morning, “I went to take my dog out and I was stopped by an officer dressed in white suit and gloves. I think somethings happened outside but I wasn’t allowed to know what.”
Clearly a serious incident has taken place with police advising residents it is serious enough to feature on news later today.
We hope all involved are ok. Please avoid the area meantime.
