Snake Found at the Calder

Pupils heading down the Calder yesterday sure got a big surprise.

The kids were astonished to see a SNAKE near the water on the morning of Thursday 14th November 2019! The forest school session expected to find a variety of wildlife but didn’t bargain on finding a snake. Unfortunately the snake was dead, one can only presume it was an escaped or abandoned pet. Presumably there are no thriving communities of snakes of this type in the Calder. Still, it came as a shock to the youngsters and was a talking point for the rest of the day.

The discovery was reported to the SSPCA.
