The Troy Foundation

Here’s a heartwarming story. Martin Miller from Hamilton moved out to live in America. After his beloved dog companion ‘Troy’ died from cancer, Martin did something remarkable.

He opened up his own garden to animal shelter dogs, ready to be put to sleep. Martins kindness and compassion gave these ill or unwanted dogs some freedom, and an outdoor experience in a caring environment during their last days.

Martin’s website says, “Troy had the best life a dog could ask for, and now it’s our turn to spread that love to shelter dogs who are at risk of being put down. Our goal is for all dogs to live as happily as Troy did.”

Whilst this isn’t related to Blantyre, his story is certainly worth a share. We wish him all the best for his new American adventure.
