Our December Fundraising

Our fundraising totals for December 2019 are announced here and have already been allocated to local good causes.

During December, Blantyre Telegraph raised a whopping £968.00 towards various local good causes! Since 2015, our fundraising now reaches a new updated incredible total of…wait for it…. £30,062 for 182 local good causes! Yeah! We’ve smashed the £30k barrier!!!!

Fundraising was from various sources:
£178.00 from the sales of Edition 9 (December) Magazine.
£56.00 from Magazine Advertising.
£191.00 Facebook Fundraise for Ellie
£13.00 from public subscriptions on our website
£268.00 from public donations
£25.00 from private donations
£211.00 from the sale of Blantyre Project books.
£26.00 from Website Advertising.

Every penny raised goes entirely to local good causes, as always. We’re pleased to announce, this has been spent as follows:

£270.00 for TWO fantastic Smart Watch prizes in our annual xmas competition, won by Ashley Russell and Nicola Bence.
£254.00 through kind public donation we renewed domain and WordPress Business website hosting entirely for 2020.
£170.00 was given to 12 year old Ellie Devlin to buy her apple Airpods after giving her savings to homeless people (after £21 deduction for Stripe/FB processing fundraiser fees).
£100.00 to Maggie’s Cancer Charity donation.
£68.00 to hand out more boxes of Quality Street to local businesses throughout December as a thanks for their hard work.
£50.00 for kids Toys for a family and Christmas Party at Terminal One, Logan Street and
£35.00 for a new A4 stand and donation tin for another new outlet for our magazine.

How to get Involved supporting the Community

There are several fantastic ways you can support Blantyre Telegraph.

  1. You can now support us offline by buying our monthly magazine. At only £1, the entire sales of that publication will go entirely to local good causes and can be bought at Jinxy’s High Blantyre, Carrigans at Broompark Road, at Family Shopper on Main Street, Ally Bally Bee on Broompark Road, Redburn Farm at Hamilton Technology Park and at Strachan Craft Butchers on Glasgow Road, Greenhall Farm Shop, The West End Bar, The Cafe and Cut Above.
