Local lady, Helen Thomson has committed to having her hair shaved off on Saturday 1st February 2020 to raise funds for Worldwide Cancer Research.
Helen told us, “My husband is supporting me by getting a #1 haircut. I’m hosting this at Blantyre Old Parish Church at 2.00pm. I will also be having a raffle to raise further funds. In just a week I’ve managed to raise over £1,700 and I have just less than 3 weeks left to try to boost that amount.”
Cancer is something affecting many families. On 8 September 2019 her mother, Suzanne, was diagnosed with Colon and secondary Liver Cancer. She had to have a section of her Colon removed along with the tumour that was blocking it.
Helen is hoping this post will raise awareness of the charity and help raise further funds. We’re pledging some raffle prizes for his charitable event.
