South Lanarkshire Council approved their housing budget this morning, the meeting providing some good news!
The Committee have agreed to build 455 new council houses next year. Councillor Josh Wilson commented, “South Lanarkshire Council will build more houses than were started in the whole of England in any of the 13 years of New Labour Governments.”
The Environmental budget more than doubled and SLC now have the 7th lowest rents in Scotland. Enhancements to repair services were also announced.
