Blantyre’s New Playpark

Blantyre’s getting a new playpark! Partnering with David Livingstone Trust, we’ve officially launched a fundraising campaign to gather support and raise money for the new play-park at the David Livingstone Birthplace, just off Station Road. Now we need YOUR help!

As you may be aware the museum is being renovated and is due to open this Summer 2020. It promises to be a major tourist attraction. However, there was no grant funding for a new outdoor playpark and of course, the old park was small and tired, a subject often raised here on Blantyre Telegraph. This is your chance to help.

The costs of providing a brand new exciting Exploration and Imaginative Play Park for Blantyre children is £115,000, namely for nice, brand new play equipment. It’s already been designed with some African themes and some excellent fundraising has already started with £35k raised to date and the possibility of a further £20k through other non chairty sources!! That’s nearly halfway there, but public help through personal donations is needed.

A further £60,000 is needed and this campaign fundraiser intends to play a part in that, whatever size that may be! We’re hoping to raise an initial £3,000 between now and Easter to help buy new equipment. Named credit will be given to all who donate and targets will rise, in the hope of raising more, if met before Easter.

Donate to the new Play Park.

YOU can be part of the re-development! Can you spare a donation to help fund the park? No matter here w small. Every pound helps. If so, please give what you can here and don’t forget to share this post!

Every penny raised will go to the Trust for this park. It would be great for community groups, organisations and businesses to get involved too. A long lasting legacy for generations of children to enjoy. Thanks.
