A few people have messaged us asking, “whats going on at the bottom of Church Street, Blantyre?”
In particular, they’re referring to workmen who are in this week in the vacant land at Glasgow Road between the junctions of Church Street and Logan Street, an area next to Terminal One, formerly known as St John’s Wood.
It’s not for shops. Contractors are currently working at the plot to drill boreholes as part of early site investigation work. They’re testing the ground, sampling its geotechnical suitability for later flats.
The plan is by no means decided and no planning application has been submitted yet. We’ll bring you an update when more can be confirmed.
