Local events group, Blantyre Community Committee have just released the dates of this year’s Summer Gala and Festive lights switch on. Dates to save in your diary for 2020 are as follows:
Friday 28th August – ‘Dance Through the Decades’ outdoor fancy dress party. 500 limited tickets will be available for this major event, the largest party night in Blantyre’s calendar. For over 18’s dance with friends and family with music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90s. Tickets will be priced at £13.50 each and go on sale after Easter.
Saturday 29th August – Blantyre Gala Day at the grass pitches on McAnulty Park. This year will combine Live Near Livvies with the Gala day into 1 day. With FREE entry for all, it promises all the usual fun of the fair, marquees, markets, stalls, entertainment on and off stage, games, prizes, royal gala party, evening dance tent, a bar and lots of brilliant live music until late.
Sunday 22nd November – at Blantyre Sports Centre and just off Glasgow Road, the Christmas lights will be switched on at 4.20pm.
