Several people have sent us images and videos today, Sunday 15 March 2020 of the Regent Shopping Centre in Hamilton being deep cleaned. We’ve now done some diligence on those reports. The centre was indeed cleaned and is precautionary with cleaning regimes stepped up, in light of Coronavirus.
A reliable business source has today confirmed that the deep cleaning of public areas and several stores this weekend came about following the positive testing of one employee nearby at the Hamilton Three phone store.
Seeing this for ourselves, the store is indeed closed with a notice on front currently saying “This store is temporarily closed right now due to the Coronavirus. We’re working with our staff to ensure their wellbeing during this challenging time and are conducting a thorough deep clean. We hope we’ll be able to get back to normal soon, but we currently don’t have any reopening info. If you’re looking to shop, you can check out our website.”
We hope the person involved makes a speedy recovery. The shopping centre remains open otherwise for business as usual.
