Perhaps something to help families plan. Scottish Schools are expected to remain closed until after the summer break to help tackle the coronavirus outbreak.
John Swinney, Education Secretary was speaking on the BBC’s Good Morning Scotland radio programme earlier today. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon later said no definitive decision had yet been made about when to reopen schools.
There’s a strong likelihood that the re-opening of schools to all pupils (other than just key workers children at present) will be one of the last measures to be taken in the exit strategy for lifting restrictions.
Mr Swinney added: “What I can say is that for the foreseeable future schools will be closed. We have taken no decisions to reopen schools and, as we said back in March, we expect them to be closed until at least the summer break.”
